McKnight Bee Products was several years in the making from the time I was a young girl interested in beekeeping. In 2018, I visited an orchard in Germany that worked with local beekeepers to keep their trees and the bees happy. In 2019, I stumbled on a workshop that was an opportunity to learn more about beekeeping, and I found a resource in several other local hobby beekeepers.

Finally, in the spring of 2020, we set up our first hive, and much to our surprise, we were able to harvest a small amount of honey late in the summer. The following year, we were able to harvest in the summer and the fall leading to two very distinct kinds of honey based on the foliage at the time. There was so much honey we were giving it to friends and family left and right and putting it in gift baskets to share. When we attended a Maker's Market at The Heights nearby, we were most surprised by the response we received from our honey and homemade beeswax candles. This led us to social media and the e-commerce site you see today.

We are constantly evolving and growing. We have multiple hives with two types of honey bees (Italian and Carniolan).
